ROTARY CLUB OF HAMILTON TOWNSHIP HONORS
CHRISTY STEPHENSON
The Rotary Club of Hamilton Township recently honored Christy Stephenson, former CEO, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (RWJ Hamilton), at its annual vocational service award luncheon.
During Ms. Stephenson’s tenure as CEO, RWJ Hamilton received the Malcolm Baldridge National Award, (the nation’s highest national recognition); the Quality New Jersey “Gold” award in 2001 and 2004; was named one of the “100 Most Wired Hospitals” in the nation by The Hospitals and Health Network Magazine for two consecutive years, and was designated one of the “50 Exceptional U.S. Hospitals” by Consumers Digest Magazine in 2005.
Keynote speaker for the event, Maurice T. Perilli, chairman of the board, Roma Bank, and member of RWJ Hamilton board of trustees said, “I will miss our frequent discussions and Christie’s advice on hospital issues and achievements; however, it is comforting to know that Christy will continue to be an important part of our hospital as a member of the board of trustees.”
Rotary President, Marie Varga, presented Ms. Stephenson with the vocational service award stating, “Christie has been a real friend to Rotary and the decision to honor her this year was certainly a unanimous one. This is a very prestigious award and Christie is a perfect addition to the long list of worthy individuals who precede her. Christy has made RWJ Hamilton a vital part of our community and we wanted to show our appreciation for one of the greatest leaders in the Hamilton community.” Rotarian Lester J. Vanella, director, Saul Funeral Homes, served as master of ceremonies. The Rotary Club of Hamilton Township meets Wednesdays at Angeloni's Cedar Gardens, 661 Route 33 in Hamilton, 12 p.m. All interested parties and guests are welcome.
