The U.N. reports that, in some parts of the word, women have to journey as much as six miles a day to retrieve water for their families. It's a brutal, back-breaking, all day effort, and the water is often contaminated (UNESCO/ International Year of Fresh Water 2003). On March 22 and March 24, we will Walk for Water to honor their daily struggle. Join me on World Water Day 2007. The modest actions of many can make a huge difference.

As a Rotarian, a Starbucks Partner, and a concerned human being, I invite you to join me and my family to walk in Philadelphia on Saturday, 24 March. Let's join together to walk, have a good time, and make a real difference.

See you there! Sheri

I've set up a small web page on the World Water Day web site to explain why this issue is important to me. On this page, you can also sign up to join me on World Water Day.
